  1. Solatant Alsahara

The company's history dates back to 1981 when *Misr for Distribution and Cinemas* was established as one of the subsidiaries of the Supreme Council of Culture. It was responsible for managing cinemas and distributing state-owned films. At that time, it oversaw 28 cinemas of various sizes and grades across the country, including 16 owned by the company and 12 leased from others.

In the same year, *Misr for Studios and Film Production* was established as another subsidiary of the Supreme Council of Culture, responsible for managing state-owned studios and film laboratories. At that time, it oversaw the five largest studios in the Arab world and Africa, which formed the foundation of Egypt's film industry: *Misr Studio, **Madina Studio, **Nahas Studio, **Al-Ahram Studio, and **Galal Studio*, home to the largest soundstages of that era.

Holding Company for Tourism and Cinema

Following the issuance of Law No. 203 of 1991 regarding public business sector companies and the creation of a ministry for the public business sector, both companies were transferred to the *Holding Company for Tourism and Cinema* under the Ministry of Public Business Sector.

In May 2000, the general assemblies of both companies decided to merge them into a single entity under the *Holding Company for Tourism and Cinema, named **Misr for Film Production and Distribution*, unifying their activities in the field of cinema, including cinemas, films, studios, and film laboratories.

Misr for Sound, Light, and Cinema

In November 2003, *Misr for Film Production and Distribution* was merged with *Misr for Sound and Light* under the name *Misr for Sound, Light, and Cinema, as a single entity under the **Holding Company for Tourism and Cinema*, following a decision by their general assemblies.

2015
Supreme Council of Culture

In 2015, Cabinet Decision No. 1594 of 2015, dated June 18, 2015, was issued, stipulating in its first article the transfer of cinema, studio, and film assets from *Misr for Sound, Light, and Cinema* to the *Supreme Council of Culture*, including all rights, obligations, and employees as recorded in the company's records. The second article tasked the Minister of Culture with taking the necessary steps to establish a company to manage these cinematic assets.

Supreme Council of Culture

This decision marked the beginning of efforts to correct the course of the film industry. In 2016, the Cabinet issued Decision No. 429 of 2016 to establish the *Holding Company for Investment in Cultural and Cinematic Fields, implicitly overriding the transfer of assets to the Supreme Council of Culture as stipulated in Decision No. 1594 of 2015. Article 10 of Decision No. 429 of 2016 stated that the **Holding Company for Investment in Cultural and Cinematic Fields* would manage and invest in the cinema assets of *Misr for Sound and Light* and other related assets.

After the return of cinema assets to the Ministry of Culture in 2015, the ministry worked diligently to present the *Cultural and Cinematic Assets Management Company* project in the best possible light and to advance the Egyptian film industry by providing all necessary mechanisms to achieve this goal.
